BACK TO CASE STUDIES
Business in the Community’s arc programme was originally launched in 2011 to build on the legacy of the 2012 Olympics with the aim of supporting London-based social enterprises to grow and place 1,000 East London borough residents into jobs by 2015. The project was later extended to provide a further 1,000 employment opportunities for people living in West London by 2016.
An anchor member at Impact Hub Westminster, the arc programme has supported more than 100 social enterprises with access to expert volunteers, training, consultancy and social investment introductions. This has resulted in 1,782 people in London going on to secure jobs, with 73% being full-time positions for over six-months.
Impact Hub Westminster members shared their enterprise challenges at ‘The Prince’s Seeing is Believing’ event, Business in the Community’s flagship leadership programme that gives senior business leaders first-hand insight into key social and environmental issues. In addition, the arc programme and Impact Hub Westminster communities are regularly brought together through our Mix @ Six networking event, to strengthen ties between the two and increase opportunities for collaboration.
